We are planning something new to benefit not only the students at God’s Love and Care School … but also the community nearby. Carnegie Mellon University’s RoboTutor software makes it possible for children who have never had the opportunity for education to become literate and to develop numeric skills, without a teacher, in only 18 months. Mr. Kevin DeLand of CMU will join our team to distribute tablets loaded with this amazing software in ten or so selected homes in the Kabwoya area (near our school). The tablets can be recharged periodically using the new solar power system at our school. We will evaluate the progress that the children make over the next 18 months. We are praying that this will provide a hope and a future for those who have had little reason to be hopeful.
